A Little Behind...

Okay, so it has a been a while since I updated this and I feel bad about that. Things have been a little busy the past year and I guess now is as good a time as any to get anyone who's interested caught up. So, for starters:
  • Skyla graduated from kindergarten and is very excited to be a first grader this coming fall

  • Chris is 4 already...time flies

  • I finished my first semester of the nursing program at Boise State and look forward to moving on to the next one this fall
  • Noel finished his associate's degree and I think he is going to continue on
  • We bought a house!
That last one is a biggie, I know. We looked for a while and then we found the perfect house for us. It took a while towards the end of the whole deal to get things taken care of and finally close on it, but we are extremely happy that it all worked out and we have a home of our own.

Camping, Take Two

For our second camping trip, we ventured out to Jordan Valley, Oregon and got on the Owyhee Uplands Back Country Byway. The Byway starts there and travels back into Idaho, stretching about 75 miles across. The scenery was gorgeous and we had a great time exploring the high desert and relaxing in the great outdoors!

Playtime at the Park

We spent part of the morning at the park with some friends. The kids love to play together and the Mommies have a good time talking. Christopher's "best friend", Logan, and his baby sister, Ella, joined us today for some playing and lunch at the park. Skyla loves to play with them and also whoever she can find at the playground! It was a great time and we hope to do it again soon!

Camping

As many of you know, we got ourselves a pop-up camper this year. So far, we've gone on two trips with it and we are lovin' it! It's way better than a tent in my opinion and the kids can't wait to camping again.
For our first trip, the "shake down" if you will, we ventured out to C.J. Strike Reservoir in Grand View, Idaho. It was beautiful there and even though it rained a bit, we still had a lot of fun. There was some fishing, hiking, and a lot of playing in the dirt to be done. For our first trip with the camper, it was a great success!

Skyla, Ice Princess

Skyla has been taking ice skating lessons for about six months now. Her latest class, the Teddy Bears, is just about over. She'll be taking a break for some swimming lessons, but she is very excited to keep ice skating after that!

This video is from back in March...she has become MUCH more at ease on her skates since then.

Christopher's 3rd Birthday

Chris turns 3 today! We had his party this past Saturday and it was a big success. He chose to have a "construction" theme party and all the kids got to decorate their own construction hats and tool aprons, as well as make some construction site scenes with stickers. He lucked out in the present department (thank you!) and had a great time. We just want to thank everyone who helped make this such a special day for him - he is very lucky to have such wonderful family and friends!

New to all this blogging...

Okay, so a friend of mine blogs about her family and I thought it was a great idea. So, I am going to give it a shot. I'm not saying it's going to be perfect or even look nice, but I am going to try!
